A pair of Hummingbird brooches
A pair of Hummingbirds, brooches designed after the rufous hummingbird that lives all along the west coast of North America from Canada to Mexico.
These little birds are the feistiest little visitors to where I live. I've designed a male and a female and when worn together they are doing the feisty hummingbird dance we see them doing when competing for a spot at the hummingbird feeder.
They show up in March to mate and raise their young, flying south in August going as far as Mexico.
They can be purchased singularly or as a pair.
The original design is sculpted in wax then cast in bronze using the lost wax method. The reproductions are made in silver pewter. It's a nice size well-made brooch not flimsy at all.
Looks great on a jacket, hat or medium weight fabric. It can be worn as a pair or on its own.
The female measures 2 3/8" x 1 3/4" The male measures 2" x 2".
