Swallow brooch pin
My personal love of the swallows that come year after year to nest in birdhouses we mounted right on the side of our home. They are hard-working bug catchers, keeping the mosquitoes and other bugs in check.
The swallow motif was a traditional tattoo for sailors that represents a safe journey home.
This little swallow brooch is and lightweight and smaller than my other birds, part of the "birds in the hood" collection.
The original design was made using the lost wax method, cast in bronze then reproduced in silver pewter.
It's a nice size brooch, very well made not flimsy at all.
Looks great on a jacket, hat or medium weight fabric.
